How this calculator works
It divides your ceiling area by the area of one tile, adds 10% for edge cuts and waste, and converts to the number of tiles and boxes to buy.
Worked example — a 16 ft × 12 ft room with 2×2 tiles:
192 sq ft ÷ 4 = 48 tiles × 1.10 = 53 tiles (~5 boxes of 12).
192 sq ft ÷ 4 = 48 tiles × 1.10 = 53 tiles (~5 boxes of 12).
Plan your grid first
Start the grid from the center of the room so edge cuts are equal on opposite sides. Aim for border tiles that are at least half a tile wide for a clean, professional look.
