How this calculator works
It measures your lawn area and adds 5% for trimming around curves and edges, then converts to the two ways sod is sold: individual rolls and full pallets.
Worked example — a 40 ft × 25 ft yard:
1,000 sq ft × 1.05 = 1,050 sq ft → 105 rolls, or 3 pallets (450 sq ft each).
1,000 sq ft × 1.05 = 1,050 sq ft → 105 rolls, or 3 pallets (450 sq ft each).
Rolls vs. pallets
Small patches are sold as rolls; whole lawns are cheaper by the pallet. Lay sod the same day it’s delivered — it dries out fast.
